Monitor help

k, so it's about high time that i got a new monitor, and the choice should be easy (from the 2 that i'm looking at), but it's proven to be kind of tough.

choice one is the apple 20 inch monitor, $900 from the education store, 1680 x 1050 max resolution.

choice two is a samsung 21 inch monitor, a little under $600 after rebates from amazon, 1,600 x 1,200 max resolution.



so the apple has a little more vertical resolution (which would help since i'm doing a lot of work in photoshop), but the samsung has more height by 150 pixels and is $300 less. both are LCD

opinions?

you don't determine size by pixels. look at the actual dimensions of the panel. i believe the apple one is widescreen so it would have a little bit more desktop space than the samsung. other things to consider would be connection type, DVI would be better than analog if your video card can support it. and also take a look at the response time, anything under 20ms should do just fine.
