Ahh hey there.... I just bought a board. Skimmin is about the only thing there is to do on Lake Michigan sometimes. Well anyway...your thoughts?
You should never get your style from watchin' MTV, all you'll get is fashion no originality, what clothes are the wearin'? what drugs are thay on? If i acted like them would i be someone? No. ~ Sublime

yummmmm victoria...those boards are so nice, how much did it cost you? I would love to do more skimboarding but I can really only do it on vacation and it blows nuts cause when I take my board along the airlines always fuck it up so I have to take it to a surf shop and get it repaired.

Hey skimboarding isn't the only cool thing to do on Lake Michigan. Go surfing! I have been skimming and surfing lake michicagn for a couple years now. (hence my name, Great Lakes Surf)Sure the breaks aren't very frequent, but you can get some nice waves at least 4-5 days a month. Check out lakesurf.com for some more info, or email me.

you throw the board in front of you and jump on it, just like the ocean. And on wavy days, you can actual start jumping waves. One day this summer my friends and I tried to use PVC rails for griding but unfortunatly it didn't work so well because the sand on the PVC would just grind into your board!

I don't know about you but surfing is terrible where i live on the lake... we can get some good wave maybe 5 times a year and they have no form so therefor they have no fun....we have a lot of nice spots to go skimming even when it is calm
