yeah well i'm thinking about moving out there for next season, and i don't really know much about the area. i was just at their website and realized that an 'unlimited pass' for the season is like 1500 CAD, after taxes, which is ri-goddamn-diculous... so is there anything else i should know about? where should i try to get a place? anybody from out there care to pass on some info?

The cost of living will slay you to far greater extent than a pass will... if you're going to school out here (at one of the two "real" schools) you can get a pass for $389, though. I'm usually at a timeshare when I stay there, so I don't really have a ton of experience in cheap hotel finding. Fireside lodge?

get a job at the resort and get employee housing and employee pass

or work somewhere that offers that shit

When I was there with my friend he got a job at The Westin and he got staff accom there very ceap and a cheaper pass. It's right next to WHistler Gondola so very convenient. I stayed at the Fireside Lodge for a few weeks and it was pretty good except they have members and most of them are old and cranky (although there are a couple of nice ones that might cook you dinner) but you also get a lot of backpackers so it aint to bad. Art's lodge is right next door an da lot cheaper but you get what you pay for (ie no heating). Timeshares are pretty sweet there as well, but that prob aint an option if you looking at living there... Just try and get some staff accom either with the mountain or with a hotel.

yea dude, working at the resort is the way to go. live cheaply and ski cheaply that way.

he a lift operator and live in the staff housing. you won't have to pay for a season pass or anything. you won't be a rich man though. i was thinking about moving to whistler next year as well, but i am leaning more towards mammoth since i have never been to canada.
