I just got a letter from Blue Mountain with information about the Badlands terrain park and the Park Pass.
For this year, theyre charging 10$ per person for a park pass, even tho it isnt that much, it does seem a bit unreasonable (10 per person x how many people go into that park through out the year? last year I was #4232 and I got mine somtime in january, by the end of the season I would think thered be atleast 10K passes given out, give or take a few hundrede.)
so if each person is paying 10$, that means blue could be making 100k off those passes alone (but all that money is going back to the park pass orientation programe so who knows, by this time next year our passes could be the most high tech and revolutionary passes out there .. (sarcasm)
seems a bit ridiculous doesnt it? 2$ for a park pass I could see.
This is just one more cost to add on to an already too expensive sport
40$ lift ticket
10$ park pass (first day out)
10$ for lunch and snacks (probobly more)
5 - 10$ gas
and ofcourse the hundreds of $ you spend on equipment ..
But hey, nothing you can do about it really is there..
ps - Im not taking a shot at blue, I think its the best place in ont. to ski, Im just trying to make a point, so please dont take this personaly jodi or doug. In the letter it says the $ is going 'to support our orientation program' which consits of ... a tv / vcr, many legal forms, a laminator, plastic cards..
If the money were to be going to the park itself like new rails, new seat cushions on the chair ect I wouldnt mind at all, maybe this is the case and the letter is just worded wrong? I dont know.
