Embarassing Parents

We went to go buy my 2003 Civic Ex coupe today for 13000. Our sales person took our offer to the manager and he ended up raising it to like 14850 because he threw in other charges. My dad got pissed and started yelling at Harold (sales person) about it even though Harold couldn't do anything about it and it wasn't even his fault. Harold kept trying to explain it to my dad but he'd get cut off by yelling. It was so fucking embarassing so I left because I can't stand to be around him like that even though I told him not to get freak out in the very beginning. Do your parents do anything like this?

first off, yeah it really sucks when someone near you flips a shit on other people. but also, i dont exactly know your situation, but car salesman do pull "whoops, thats neccesary" price additions when its really not. but then again i dont know your situation

Do you ever think that maybe your parents are embarassed of you.

The sales person deserved to be yelled at. The "let me ask my manager" routine is right out of the book cliches, right next to catching a rubber boot while fishing. Next time you try to by a car or negotiate ANYTHING make sure the person you're negotiating with has the ability or power to approve the deal. Otherwise you're wasting your time, and you're gonna get swindled.

YEa your dad definitley knew the shit the guy was pulling by adding more charges. He was trying to save money he wasnt just going to be thrown into some stupid deal. I think he was right by yelling because they were trying to jerk him around.

I would have been yelling. At the sales person at first, but then i would have gone and yelled at the manager. Yelling, espicaly when there are alot of other costemers around is a good way to get what you want. they dont want to look bad infront of a bunch of potential clients.

speaking of embarassing parents my mom used to slap my ass, i'd get so fucking pissed off....everytime she did it I would get pissed and tell her never to do it again or something....and that never really helped. So one day I ended up shoving her into a door, she got hurt and got really mad, but at least she stopped doing it.

Another thing I didnt like is whenever my dad would comment on the girls racks, who go to my school.....I think he got the point that I didnt want to be discussing that with him.

my dad was eavesdropping on me talking on my cell in my room to my friend. i told him i'd pick him up at the cinema center after he got out of work. so i go to leave and my dad goes 'so why are you going out there? to get drugs?' and i tell him the truth. he doesn't believe me and now i'm grounded for absolutely no reason at all. FUCK him.

My dad once thought that i was doing drugs (when i wasnt at all) and he came to me and said "i know your doing drugs" and i said "Im not doing drugs" He said "its ok if your doing drugs, as long as they dont interfeer with your education" and i said "Dad, im not doing drugs." He then walked away, came back 20 seconds later and said "Look me in the eye and tell me your not doing drugs" so then i started to laugh at him and was said "What have i ever done to earn your distrust? when have i been suspended from school for anything? when have I come home drunk? When have I even broken curfue by more than 30 minutes? Fuck off. Im not doing drugs" He promptly shut up after that and let me finish me 10 page essay in peace.

but yeah, my parents always thoguht I did drugs, hell, everyone always thought I did drugs, I look liek a stoner, but I never did drugs or have. My parents have reason not to trust me... I've lied many tiems. I'm not sure there is a teenager out there who hasn't.

to get that car you write 12,500 cash out the door on a card with your phone number and tell them to call you when they can make that happen. In my experience you won't even get out the door.
The last car I bought the guy called for two weeks with offers and finally on the last day of the year it was going to auction hte last day and he dropped the price 3 grand and gave it to me.
You might not get the first pink civic you want, but you will get the 2nd or 3rd for 12 or less I promise, yelling isn't required though, that just lets them know how bad you want it and they will keep fuckin you with no reacharound. You can't be dumb come on.
If you really want to save money take it to a honda dealership and have them check it out for 150 bucks, they will print up an estimate with everything wrong with it including recalls, take that to the salesman and say take this amount off the price and I'll buy it, until then I don't feel it is safe.
