I can't slide!!!

i'm a hunter NY local and our park is kinda crap. we've got a few rails and some boxes but i tend to go more for the kickers, tables, pipes, and the like.

any advice on what i should try out if i want to slide rails? boxes, stuff like that?

if you want to start sliding something i would recomend you start with boxes..so you get the motioin of sliding something down..then move to rails..they are easy after the first one you get

start off on boxes and then when you get them down go for rails just have confidence in yourself, make sure you land centered on the rail, look between your legs at the rail when you first get on it that works for me and once your on make sure to look at the end of the rail and youll get it a little late in the season to start learning rails but good luck dude im sure youll get them

start on boxes

when i first learned to slid i had to learn on such a hard rail it was like kinked and super skinny and i ate shit so much but wen i got it all other rails were so easy

yeah i learned on like a short box then had to move to a kink rail, kinda scary, but i got it my first try, and was doing dubs by the end of the day, switch on the next day, and then disasters and switch disasters by the end of the week, believe me, its all balls

gotta lean downhill. people have a tendancy to lean up, or edge like they're stopping or carving on the slopes, so you gotta really keep your skis flat, so lean downhill.

what i do, is pop high, even if the box is ride-on, and really focus on turning 90 degrees and try to slam my skis down on the box hard while leaning downhill. i think focusing on slamming down the skis when they're sideways helps prevent edging a bit. just commit, and dont lean back...

...why are the signatures still broken?

when you're just starting its helpful to really focus on the end of the rail. This helps you lean downhill, and balance

if you skateboard..or have access to one, set it still on the ground, and run (run!) and jump on it..it's the same form of balance as when you're on a rail.

just hit it, I've never done a box in my like and have nailed 30 foot double kinks to switch off, like in the first few days I tried sliding rails, it's all about just locking and and keeping your balance to the end, you'll get it after a few trys.

Go for down rails first if you have them and you are going to eat major shit your first time so get it over with.

stay balanced, keep your feet over the rail, about shoulder width apart, and stay right in between your feet with your skis flat on the rail. look at the end of the rail, and stomp the poop out of it. if it helps, gett a littel lower, which makes it easier to balance
