... SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PDT THIS EVENING...
NOAA'S NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SACRAMENTO, CA HAS ISSUED A SNOW ADVISORY.
MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS DURING THE EVENING. UP TO 7 INCHES OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. SNOW LEVELS HAVE LOWERED TO 1500 TO 2500 FEET IN EASTERN SHASTA COUNTY AND 2000 TO 3000 FEET ALONG THE WEST SLOPES OF THE NORTHERN SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS. STRONG WINDS GUSTS COULD CREATE AREAS OF REDUCED VISIBILITY IN BLOWING SNOW OVER HIGHER MOUNTAIN PASSES. CHECK ROAD CONDITIONS BEFORE DEPARTING.
