Breck closing date

One of the ski patrollers said Breck could stay open longer if it was still profitable, does anyone know more about this?

they are no longer profitable after mi-april because spring break is over and probably 99% of the people coming to the mtn are season-pass holders, so it costs them more to keep the mtn running than the amount of $$ they bring in

Actually all the COlorado Ski resorts with the exception of A-basin are forced to close for water purposes for city use in Denver and surrounding areas.

the companies (intrawest, Vail Resorts, ect) have lease agreements with the national forest which governs how long the mountains can remain open for business.
