it just hit me today that most of the resorts besides a basin are closing withing the next week or two. its sad that the good part of ski season is over. i know CO has much longer season than most of you but it still sucks ass ARG

that may be... but apparently a juicy storm is moving into tomorrow night. :-D At least there's one more shot of winter.

Everybody gets one chance to do something great. Most people never take the chance, either because they're too scared, or they don't recognize it when it spits on their shoes.

I just HATE how resorts like Vail close when they still have tons of snow left. I know they have to do what is the most profitable, but it still sucks

yes i agree with you, it does suck that places close even though they have snow. basically, once the tourists stop coming they close because they dont make any more money when people with season passes come.

yea, it's unfortunate. i was at WP that last two days and there wasn't much snow left at the base as of mid-day today...sucky. but, that's what happens when it's 60 degrees in the mtns.

i think a lot of places in colorado have a cetain date they have to close by. some resorts have to get permits from the national parks like breck becasue its in the arapahoe forest so they can only stay open so long.

Precisely. Abasin is one of the few resorts that actually own the land that they operate on. The forrest service makes all the other big boys shut down at X date ....cuz theyre tools.
