You don't need twins. Of course they're nice but you don't need them.
I used to ride backwards on my straight skis all the time (and these things were vintage man). I did 180s and shit. I was like 10 but still... you don't need twins.
I have a friend who used to have (up to about a month and a half ago) a pair of crappy single tipped skis (missing an edge). He did 900s and shit off BIG jumps on them, misty 7s, backflips, 720s, rodeos, etc. Of course he still does all those tricks... but proof you don't need twins. He could clean any rail (and still does on his new skis).

Try a 900 off a 50 foot step down... thats what the guy i was talking about did (my friend)... i switched to twins before i even hit that jump or went to that hill (cop). Proof you don't need em. It's just harder without them.

-Secondly, twins are made for park, and park skis have tons more flex, alot lighter, and umm, made for the park.

Marilyn isn't pussy compared to anyone. If you've ever watched his dvds you would see how tough he is... he got a huge fuckin gash, worth of stitches on his knee covering his whole knee from bashing it on his mic stand or something.... anyway he kept singing for the rest of the song and he didn't stop the show either. actually your probably right on that one.
But still i see to many people saying you need twins... for example, some racer was asking how to do 180s... his problem wasn't that he was falling because he didn't have twins it was because he turned 90 and couldn't make it... but still everyones advice was to buy twin tips. Thats the point of the thread...
And back to the argument with play:
50 cent is definitely a tough guy. Just marilyn is tougher, thats all. Sure most people would probably die if they got shot... me included... but if you get to a hospital on time than you can be saved usually (once again depending on where you get shot) .

well if you're just learning to do switch stuff, then yeah. You need twintips because you don't know how to shift your weight properly so it's good to have em' when learning...even though I learned to ski switch on 135 Rossi Slolom skis.

do you ever carve down the hill switch as fast as humanly possible?? because without twins i would never be able to do that. i ski backwards more than i do forwards on an average day.
