Im in geometry and all we ever do is mother f*cking proofs. I tell my teacher there pointless and she says that I will use them later in life but I think thats bull sh*t! Have any of you ever used one god damn proof in your whole life other than in geometry?

Do you mean the whole explaining how you got to your conclusion or proofs? Cause Im tlaking about why the hell do I have to use a god damn therom or postulate to prove something that anyone can see in the diagram. Basiclly is pisses me off because you cant assume the slightest thing when most likely it probobly true. If only mathematicians would take a chance.

yea not that I am like for proofs, but even tho you will never need to prove angles or nething ever again, its not a horrible thing to learn work ethic, how to think, because it can help you in life without having to directly tie into geometry.ok that sounded gay but hopefully u get the point

just dont do shit and fail the class. then when graduation week comes around and you need a semester of math, just do an online class. worked for me

yes they suck, but it does get easy after a while. thats all weve been doing in class and i find them to be easy.

Yea well it's good to learn all those rules now, and try and remember them, because one day you're going to get a mean ass calculus problem that's based on trig, and they'd be a lot simpler if you remembered certain rules about intersections of certain lines. I don't remember much of my geometry from 8th grade except for the important stuff, but calculus is actually applicable in real life

yea at my school you can take a geometry class without proofs but you dont get a geometry credit for it. And with the failing the class thing for lots of people it isnt an option cause some peoples parents would frea kout if that happened.

Yeah, but Trig and Differential Calculus proofs are about one million times harder than geometry proofs. Geometry is the easiest of all math classes, and trust me, it will get a lot harder.

Well I was in Geometry in 10th grade so fuck off smarty pants. Anyway proofs are pointless, as long as you understand the Theorems and Postulates and such, writing all that shit out is busy work. It takes about 10 seconds to solve a proof verbally, but like 1 or 2 minute to write. TOTAL BULLSHIT!!!!

gravteck is right. If you go to university or whatever, all that stuff will come back to haunt you, especially if you do anything to do with engeneering, that sort of thing. They are the building blocks for further more complex rules and equations, if you stop the ladder there you can't climb any higher, but yeah, they do suck

yea, at gould they have two geometry classes, when i signed up for classes, i just signed up for geometry, i think they called geometry with proofs honors geometry...but now the public school i go to has this gay math program thingy called 'core plus', it's even gayer than proofs, i would be in algebra 2, but now i'm in the stupid people math...and it's easy, so i can't really complain i guess
