So I was looking for a little help on Othello today and I discovered the following books on sparknotes:
1) All of the harry potters
2) The hobbit and the fellowship of the ring
3) The elegant Universe
4) The DaVinci Code
5) The Old and the New Testiments
Does anyone else find the presence of these titles on the site to be kinda funny?
I mean, what kinda people sparknote Harry potter or the entire Bible?!
Has anyone else found similar things?

Why wouldn't they have LOTR books? Just because there was a movie about them? The Hobbit is probbaly assigned more to grade 8s here than any other book.

ok I guess ill grant that LOTR and even the davinci code I weren't too surprised, it just kinda made me smile. Ill even pass up to comment on harry potter--i mean I too thought the dense mind games and complexity of hogwarts was mindblowing--
But THe elegant universe and the Bible?
Yes yes, I can think of situations where one needs a good overview of some book in the new testiment or yet another shot at simplifying string theory, but I still find it kinda funny.
And yes, I am pretty damn cool

Not really funny to find them on there... But I guess people have different senses of humor.

Dear god! I didn't think this would be the kid of post I would end up having to defend myself in!
But lets clarify a couple things...
1) I found it strange, not fucking hilarious! ok? Comprehend, or do I need to give you some note for that? I did not piss my pants, nor did i fall out of my chair to roll on the ground laughing my ass off, i simply found it quirky and was wondering if others did as well!
2) Of course I am well aware that colleges and universities have bible readings. THE BIBLES THE FUCKING MOST STUDIED PIECE OF LITERATURE EVER! I'm just thinking that (and I have yet to actually read the Bible spark notes so I may by all means be wholeheartedly mistaken!) the sparknotes on the old testiment might not be the jackpot that sparknotes provides for many other works. ie: I would be surprised if spark goes into the proper amont of depth (either too much or too little) to provide the exact thing one was looking for.
