New mt. bike fork??

I have a treck 4000 and I was woundering what kind of fork you think would be good (more travel, the better as long as it isnt to soft). Also, if you think it is even worth getting a new fork for it, or if i should save up and get a better bike. also, I definatly wouldnt buy a fork that was more then my bike ($440) and i would mostlikley be looking in the $200+ range, but as long as it is quality, the cheaper the better.

also, the fork that is on there now is a lower end rock shox fork. it isnt ajustable, but it is better (more travel) then the fork on my moms specialized, I forget what company that one is.

the fork you have now is around the most you are willing to spend on a new one. a new fork isn't going to be that mmuch better. look at a specialized hardrock. thay have decent forks and are cheap.

I say go with a Mazocchi All Mountain II, if your into like cross country, trails, and your can even bust out some smaller drops and shit on it.

ya probably cross country riding and smaller drops would be mostly what i would be doing, may do some downhill but not alot.
