" no and there really isnt much differentce between me and him"
You got to be joking me. Yes he is a human being just like you but its his life and the diffrence that he made is what people are making a deal about.

He survived a Nazi death camp and helped bring down communism in eastern europe. He was shot then went and met with the person who shot him and forgave him. He also speaks eight languages and is probably one of the most influencial figures in the last century.

he just was a really important catholic leader. He accomplished alot more for the world than you have so thats why they are making a big deal out of it and why more people with mourn for him than you^^^^

Actually, there is a difference... you are an incensitive 14 year old punk ass bitch who's going to hell whereas the pope has helped many people, and has promoted faith and hope around the world and is going to heaven.

He helped more people than any other pope before. He's been by far the best, most publicized pope. And holy. This is a big deal, he was the leader of the Roman Catholics. Bigger deal than any skier will ever be.

I dunno, T-Hall is pretty influential. Jokes.
I actually really respect everything the pope has done. His death should be mourned and his contributions to humanity appreciated.
I just don't like the religious spin that has been put on everything. Lets focus on the man, not the man's religion.

Who's going to replace the Pope now? The pope's assistant guy can't do his duties for ever.

I'm catholic, and i think it was definitley his time to go. I mean he really couldn't fulfill his duties as a pope anymore with his deteriorating health. He missed the easter mass for the first time in a longgg time. He was a great pope, but it was his time. You can't be an efficient pope with heart failure and a feeding tube up your nose. I just hope they find a good guy to replace him with.

well i do understand the focus on religion, because he was the leader of catholicism for many decades.
as an individual, he made huge advances in politics, by shunning communism, but at the same time also criticizing capitalism. he stood for what he believed in, and from that was able to help millions, specifically in europe.
as a leader of the worlds largest religion, he inspired and led billions (note...billions) of beleivers around the world. so thats why it is such a big deal.
personally, he has nothing to do with my own faith, but i am still saddened by all of this. and when people say that this has become too much of a big deal...well, it IS a big deal, and rightfully so. have some respect.

this pope basically transcended all religions and was more of a world leader than just a pope. I heard a good concept that this pope was basically a full United Nations but in one man.

He was the coolest pope ever, And man did he last a while everyone thought he was going to die like a couple of years ago, He died at home,
Didn't want to go back to Hospital.
He died 2 hours ago & now We have to listen to
Bush talk about him. I think he didn't like G.Bush
very much. Stupid CNN calling him dead yesterday afternoon, They don't check the facts much anymore. So now I'm gonna raise a toast to the Pope & may he rest in Peace.
I think he saw enough of this crazy world were in now!

I fully agree with Lanks on this one, the Pope was a great guy overall. although he did have his faults as we all do.
I am not a religious person, so his death does not directly affect me in the way its affecting others around the world right now.

so does it actually happen the way 'Angels and demons' says it should? with the carmenlengo taking over temporarily while all the cardinals meet in a concalve, and then one of the prefereti is picked behind locked doors?
that would be ill

why big deal?
the Pope is some kinda father for all Catholics. As he dies, it's like 1.200.000.000 people on Earth loose their father, or second father. That's it man. we loose someone we love

yes, the pope accomplished more in his lifetime than many of us will ever dream of, and it is a shame that he passed away, but it's time for a new, more lively person to take the reigns. i don't think that i heard the pope speak, or see him move of his own accord in my lifetime. It will be a good thing.
