I have PE's and they are really heavy. If i got Tm's would they be better? Whats the lightest ski?

spinning skis huh. i would think every twin would be manufactured so you could at least do that, since that's pretty much the one thing any type of freerider has in common, but, if you want to get all tecnical and stupid about it, sure, buy something light. its not the ski that makes you perform, its you. don't be a headcase.

Skis will not be any different for "spinning", a lighter ski will make it easier to ollie but won't affect your spinning very much.

TM's are light but thats because they're made without glue and all the main components fall off after a day, leaving u with a nice light, piece of laminate

The 2000 model was even lighter only maple core they reinforced them a bit the next year
with a plate or somthing they are a little heavier

Really the bigger factor in how easy a ski spins is its swing weight which depends heavily on where you mount you bindings. The weight differences between skis and bindings isn't really that noticeable, but mounting from 4 back to center definately is.

yesterday at a comp i broke my breaks in practice so i couldnt use them the rest of the day. i ride tm's and i was doing 5s in practice. so i went to go rent some scratches and they were quite a bit heavier than the tm's. and it DID make a huge difference. the tms are a really light weight ski i would go with them.

there were some comments regarding binding weight. if you think about it, your bindings are located where the weight is not going to make a difference at all. when you spin, swing weight is what you should be concerned with, not overall weight. light bindings only make it more convenient for you to carry, giroscopic effect negates the weight that is centered beneath your boots. a ski like the salomon 1080 or pocket rocket that uses space frame technology to minimize the material in the tips and tails would be a good choice if you are concerned about the absolute lightest swinging ski. thats the idea behind the design, to have the lightest swing weight.
