Alright, having a sled in Tahoe would probably be the sickest shit ever, so anyone have an advice on sleds, where to get them, what kinds etc.

My family's got 2. A Polaris 700cc longtrack - (reduces the fishtailing) and a Ski doo something 2 seater. I really like the Polaris since it's mine, but 700 is a little much 500 would probably be fine. If at all possible, look for a longtrack. They really help with traction and just about everything else.

how much you want to spend. buy a long track if your going to do all backcountry hills and powder. a long track doesnt help it from fish tailen all it does it helps the track flot on the snow and climb hills. get something bigger then a 600cc and do not DO NOT get a fucking yahama there gay and they way 6000000000000 pounds.and artic cats are ugle so either buy a polaris are skidoo

^^^ ur a dushbag man and dont know shit. yamahas are the most reliable snowmobiles u can get. ya they way alot but they will always get u back. if ur buyin a maountain sled and dont wana do a lot of modding id go wit either a arctic cat 900 king kat or an M7. ski doos are good but i cant stand the rev design becasue it pins ur legs back. i havent had much experience with polaris besides out climbing them on a king kat. if u goin for a trail sled id go with a yamaha because who gives a shit about weight if ur only on a trail and yamaha offers the best ride in the industry so ir ur on bumpy trails u wont gret the shit kicked out of u.

Well, it depends on what you are going to be doing with it. If you live in Tahoe, you need at least a 136 inch track, or else you will get stuck constantly. Depends on much money you want to spend as well, gimmie some more details and I'll hook you up with all the info you need.

HOW THE FUCK WOULD IT HURT It. so aprentlly you dont know shit about snowmaching.

@k, polaris are far from the most reliable sleds. my gf's dad has been a snowmobile mechanic all his life. he owned his own shop, and now he works for artic cat. bombardier are the most reliable. more so than polaris or artic cat (which i happen to like but im not gonna argue with a guy whos been doing it all his life). 2nd most reliable is yamaha.

ive towed back a bunch of polaris;s. strange how yamaha is the only company that goin to comply with the new regulations. they already got a motor that complys to the new regulations and the other 3 companies havent even started working on making a motor that will comply to the new regs. so pull ur head out of ur ass and relize ul be riding a 4 stroke if u buy a new sled in bout 3 years.

ya arctic cat arnt the most reliable but will climb like u cant beleive. i blew a cylinder on a king kat this year.


^^ to the ok dude a few posts up i was saying that yamahas have the best ride in the industry. have u ever ridden a shitty sled on a bumpy trail all day? ya well ul be hurting at the end of the day. and how do yamaha 4 stroke suxs? they have the best powerband out of any snowmobile and will pull hard all thru the rpm range while a 2 cylinder wont.

i ride polaris and like skidoos and aritc is ok but i hate yamahas. they have a new engine design in the 4 stroke but they way to much to do any good.

i ride a 2004 skidoo rev 800, with a 144 track. and it can climb pretty much anything in the backcountry. thats what i would recomend. good warrantees too.

ya arctic cat arnt the most reliale but will climb like u cant believe if u got one with an attack 20 track. ski doos are reliable, i use to ride um before the went to the rev platform but im not a fan of the new seating position but there a good sled if u like the new design. yamahas are heavy but if uve ever ridden one thats been modded it a ton with light weight parts and engine mods think ud have a different impression. from wat i heard yami still owns the east where all they do is ride on flat trails so weight doesnt mean jack, its jus all about hp.

ia im sayin yamahas are good for trails. ya ive ridden an rx-1 mt and it has really good power and all but its not balanced right for mt riding and way too heavy. but on a flat groomed trail there sweet to ride
