ski legnth=weight???

how does yer weight effect the legnth of the ski u should get? I just heard this 2day. does it have somethin' to do with flex?? if thats true. the would the 174 scratch FS be good for me at only 125lbs?

Weight is the way you select a ski length because the more you way, the more edge you need to ski well and the greater surface area you need to float in powder. If you are heavy and ski a short ski you will sink in the soft stuff, you will have a hard time landing jumps, and you will over power the ski. If you are light and ski a long ski, you will have a hard time pressuring the edges effectively and you will not get the appropriate flex.

For you, a 174 is WAY TOO BIG. You can call rossignol for help, but I would say 164 all the way.
