Replying to The bottom of the extreme chain

I have noticed that most people don't know what freestyle skiing is. I know this is a duh, but it sorta hurts me everytime I hear it. When I'm talking about it, this is how the conversation usually goes.

me: "ya I freestyle ski."
person: "You mean like snowboard?"
me: "um no i do it on skis."
person:"You mean like those short ones?"

At that point I feel the pain. I then explain about the more detailed aspects, but my dignity is panned a little when i hear people are more familiar with skiboarding than freestyle skiing.
