Replying to Lots of binding troubles.............
Ok. So i have a scratch 100 binding. The spring in the heelpeice is messed up some how i dont know how to fix it. The spring wont compress when i try to tighten it(the bolt wont tighten) so the heelpeice is left on a super slack release setting which releases all the time no matter what i do. Second of all, that peice that you step into, which makes your brakes go from a verticle position to a horizontal position has snapped off on the same binding. Do you guys have any tips on how to fix this myself i wanna go skiing tomorow. I looked on my ski hills website and they say that they do tune ups and binding checks but i don't know how much of an effort there gonna put into fixing this you know. I dont want them to just try to tigten the bolt on the heelpeice, find it doesnt work, tell me their sorry and charge me 20 bucks for it and i'm afraid thats whats gonna happen. And by the way I have already tried to move my binding heelpeice closer to the toepeice, this does not help at all. I can slam it all the way forward so I can barely get my foot out of the binding but it will still release with ease. I was thinking about taking off both the heelpeice mount and the heelpeice on my ski and then replacing it with another heelpeice and mount. This would have to be a completely different heelpeice and mount then my scratch 100 though, infact it would probably just be a leisure binding, ment for skiing groomers if you know what i mean. Would this work? If I unscrewed my mount could I replace it with another effectivly by myself? I'm not a big hardcore ripper either, I mean i ski in manitoba for fuck sakes. Still tommorow ill be hitting some pipe and tables and rails so I dont want anythign busting ending up in me getting sacked. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
