good luck, skip the card and just get a co- sign on something like a laptop or something, i guess you get a card if you do it at best buy but just cut it up and pay off your computer or yeah get the point.
Just dip your dong in paint and smack your helmet with it.

Ahhhhh try and avoid them. It feels like free money but its not.
And then the interest bites you in the ass.
Unless of course your gonna buy some skis with them.

credit cards are great, it allows me to get all the ski gear I want throughout the winter and I just gotta work my ass off in the summer to pay them off. Your first creditcard expect a real shitty A.p.r. But even a 10% apr isnt the end of the world. Annual percentage rate means you're only paying 1/12th the percentage of your apr of your balance each month. so if you owe 1000$ have a 10% apr you'll pay less than 10$ a month in credit charges. Granted you'll never pay off your principal making minumum payments but who cares that's what summers for.
I have a few cards at the moment, some cards have introductory balance transfer offers (kicks ass) for instance I have say 2000 racked up on one card and my new card has a good introductory balance transfer say of 1.9%. I can transfer the 2000$ in debt to my other card and be only paying 1.9% in finance charges as long as I dont swipe anymore on my new card until that principal is paid. BUT if I'm making minimum payments on it I'm only paying 3.16$ per month!!! That means I can pay a little throughout the school year and really attack the debt in the summer time.
There are plenty of ways to work the system when it comes to credit cards, my only advice to you is NEVER ever NEVER ever make a payment late, once you do they have you by the balls. all the introductory offers and rates get flushed down the toilet and you're gonna pay out the ass and destory your credit simotaneously
We pay our debt sometimes.

I did the credit card thing when I turned 18 and fucked myself fast with biking stuff. Just be carefull and like others said, NEVER miss a payment. They will jack your interest rate huge. My favorite card is my Bank of America card. Really nice APR and great online setup for paying your bills. I also use Discover card for fixing my car and then paying off right away because I get a Cash back bonus. Citibank is pretty dece too, but if you change your banking info they make you wait 6 days for it to process which has made me miss my payments before. My suggestion is get one with a low limit for buying shit to pay off and having as a deposit for hotels and stuff.

the weird thing about a credit history though is that its based on what percentage of your limit you use up each month or year or whatever. So technically, you can get a better credit history if you have like 8 cars and only use 1 of them because you're using a low percentage. But i know that wouldnt be a good idea for me, just stating how it is.

your wasting money. every time you use your credit card and pay it back your using money for nothing cause your paying whatever the yearly cost for the card is plus APR.

i have two soundtrack credit cards, and both of them have this deal with no interest for a certain period of time. if you just buy small things and pay them off before you have to pay interest, then the credit card company is actually losing money because of you (i love this thought).
unfortunately, i also have a regular visa that is almost maxed out, and the finance charge is fucking kicking my ass, and it's pretty much fucking with my credit. so it could go either way. just be careful
