I need a Beacon

Hey if anyone out there, meaning SLC area, has a beacon that they want to get rid of, or know of any places to get one cheap let me know. Everywhere I have looked, they are about three hundred bills and I just don't know if my life is worth three hundred, but it is defenitely worth around two hundred so let me know if you hear of anything.

yo buck, i got mine form backcountry.com for like 325 w/ a new shovel and probe. so thats not to bad.

fuck beackons, they are for pussies. you don't need one in the B/C. only buy one if you are cool, and you want your mom to have something to cover in dirt after you die in a slide cause you are an idiot, who doesn't understand snow, and thinks they can just swim out of a slide.

Uh, you're both wrong. A beacon is just a body finder. If you're real lucky, your partner might find your body while it's still breathing.

Oh yeah, don't hold your breath waiting for a deal on a beacon. They're very hard to find on sale. Even 10% off retail would be a good deal. It's not something to be cheap about anyway, if you were to find a cheap one, it would probably be an old analog. For your partner's sake, get a newer digital like a BCA Tracker.

no a beacon puts a big forcefield around your body, so nothing can hurt you....duh

I say get a whistle... Possible two whistles one normal and one is a dog whistle so that rescue gods can find out..... You never know when you could use a whistle...... I have a beacon on my sessions pants i think.

You might have a "Recco" transmitter on your pants but thats just a coiled copper wire I'm pretty sure. I know little cottonwood rescue has Recco locators but I mean thats pretty much recovery not rescue.

yeah i thought i did but i guess not i checked my pants were the non recco version i guess. OH MY GOD I"M SO SCREWED IF I GET IN ANY TROUBLE!!! Good thing i have a whistle!
