i just got back from a 10 day trip in the smokys it was fun as shit, it was really my first reall backpacking experience and it was fun as hell, i wanna get more into it, starting with a trip this summer to isle royale, who else backpacks?

hike in the woods, carry everything on your back shit in a hole wipe with leaves and dont shower for like 10 days, this trip was like through my school its a thing that sophomores can do theyve had it every year since like 1958 or some shit

I just started last year, the longest I've done is like a 14 mile trip in two days, This summer I'm gonna do some 80-100 mile trips though

80 to a hundred is long, we did like 5 miles a day but like 1 day was devoted to this solo thing so we covered like 30-40 miles i guess

yeah definetly long but I can hack it, shit we did like 7 miles uphill at 9000+ feet in about 3.5 hours

I was canoeing and backpacking all last week in Big Bend/Mexico. I love it. And no, you can't compare canoeing and backpacking, both are different. I have done really hardcore trips with both, and as far as I am concerned. 20 miles in a day with 3000 feet in elevation change is harder than running most rapids. Both are extremely rewarding, and a true outdoorsman would appreciate both. Invite me into the cult please. Oh, and for the record, I am leaving in 30 minutes for a 3 night canoe trip.

anyone here ever go to Philmont, thats an amazing trip. I've been a few places, mostly the high peaks in the Adirondacks, i'm dong a 133 mile trip in august.

I haven't backpacked in so long...I need to soon. And I also need to go camping, I haven't done that either. Thankfully here in Colorado I will have many options as soon as it stops snowing!

oh ya invite me into the cult and also this summer my friends and i will hike all 4 mts in one day with in 24 hrs north, middle, south sisters and broken top it is possible we tried that attempt last year but we had some malfuction with the split so it fucked us up with a waste of like a total 5 hrs so i just ditched my friends and went back to my car by myself before it got dark casue i was alone and couldn't find them. next time we are sticking together
