Skis getting fatter every year...

Its crazy how fat skis get now. Look at next year's skis, the Foils are a park ski but almost as fat as a pair of BC's, the PEs are pretty fat, the BC's are getting wider again, just like almost every new version of this year's fat skis, ANTs, Prophets,... What's the deal, are we all gonna end up on 140mm underfoot skis in 3 years? This needs to stop cuz skiing gets easier and easier and powder gets tracked out faster and faster, and runs get more crowded. We shouldn't go back in time, but there needs to be a limit to the fatness of a ski

90-100 is the perfect width anything wider is just too wide unless your in 4 feet of powder

i think the idea for ridiculously fat skis for park is dank, but i say keep it under 150 mm waist for pow skis
Who doesn't like handicapped girls? I mean there is nothing like the feeling of a girl going into a siezure while she is riding you or when she makes those damn sexy groaning and gurggling noises before you even touch her.

150 is HUGE and useless, I was riding 3 feet of pow in Whistler today with ARvs(93mm underfoot) and they totally kicked ass, no need over 100. For park I guess you can get more stability on ur landings if your skis are fatter, but i don tknow if its that useful...

if you ski fast you dont need giant skis. I'd rather rip my old rossi 7s's than have two snowboards strapped to my feet.

do you really think that adding 10mm per ski makes runs more crowded? i know you were kidding but haha..

my roommate just made some skis that were 160 at the waist!!! they are a reverse sidecut, like the spatula.... shitty on hardpack but miracle on pow.

your roommate is the man, I love my spatulas, I think reverse side cut and decamber are more beneficial in pow than straight up width. A guy at mammoth on seth pistols asked me about my spatulas. He said he loved the pistols but in deep pow the hooking was holding him back. Reverse side cut is the most amazing and effortless feeling in pow you'll ever experience.

^^well there won't litterally be more people in the powder because theres 10mm added to a ski but every year and with the course of time im sure theres more tracks being made because its more accesible with fat skis

fat skis are the only way to go, whether you are in the park or bc. fat sticks are the best thing to happen to skiing! they are so much fun. i don't ever ride anything under about 95 these days...usually over 100.

fatter is better...period end of discussion
just wait to see Shane's new toys next year!
100mm is Ok for most pow days, but going wider gets the whole surf thing going and thats what pow is all about....
people who refuse to acknowledge the power of fatness can choke off the dust from the back of my spatulas

over a 100 is im sure a great feeling in the powder, but seriously it takes so much less skill to float and turn. K lets set the limits at 105 then.

I fully agree that fatter skis make skiing much easier, but that allows the skier to accomplish more, I know when i'm on my spats I can ski lines that I probably wouldn't think about on a thinner ski. Is it cheating? maybe, but it does make me push my limits more and leads to progression.
I do believe there should be a limit on the shortness of skis, park rats ski the tinniest skis I've ever seen, If you're over 150lbs, you should be skiing 180+

Seriously...who cares if someone is riding Made'Ns on the groomers. Have you ever done it? Do you know what it feels like? If not, don't talk shit on it. I got some Pistols this year to have as my pow ski and my PEs as my all-mtn, anyday ski. I haven't touched my PEs since I've gotten my Pistols. I've ridden those for the last 3 months every day I've been out. Had them in powder, groomers, trees, even the bumps and they constantly put a smile on my face. I'm with Vicous and JoshB on this one. Fatter is better....just read my sig....
