what is the best carving twin tip that is out there and stiff? i ski alot of hard stuff here in ohio.

Dynastar Troublemakers are a good ski and there fairly stiff. Also the Seth Pistols from K2 are good for what you want.

For now I'd agree with sean, the Max Trix is this years best carving ski, but if your gonna wait until next year I heard the Vicious has better handling on hardpack and has the new progressive side-cut which allows to ski to "dig" into the snow at the beginning of the turn and hold you in better and doesnt let you washout or go out of control as easily.

You think a 97mm waist ski is going to outdo the mad trix for carving? Well done, I'm laughing. Anyways, there was a thread on this recently by someone named carve_89, go have a look for it.

i have the trubs, they work nicely for me and i'm skiing ice most of the time... but they definately aren't that stiff to whoever said that. they're really flexible

the problem i have heard with the tweaks are that the bindings are really heavy for the park. is this true.....thanx for the respnses

i think this years tweaks didn't have the integrated binding system on them, so you can get whatever bindings you want.

I have tweaks and live in Michigan so the snow is pretty close to the same. I love them, they are stiff, light (i have p12's on them) and carve great. They also rocked out west too. I say get the tweaks.

If your gona crave buy some racing skis or some other shit, you don't use twins to carve, they are just not that kind of ski. I have the Mad Trix which is pretty much the stiffest ski out there, but it sucks to carve compaired to the worst racing ski. you don't need to carve in thepark.

tweaks though I hate that ski, and you can put any binding on it just don't think you will be able to butter or anything on them

not everyone can afford 10 pairs of skis to suit their every need. some people can only afford one (such as myself). i use my pistols for powder, park, and yes... carving on hardpack.

why would it? if you break the binding, atomic isn't going to warranty it. if you break the ski then yeah.. what kind of question is that?

Finally someone mentioned Volkl, I'd say the V-skis are about the stiffest freeride skis right now, they are durable and have stiff attack power like no other ski made, and the '06 lineup makes me want to have sex with the designers.....all of them.....at once, the whole lineup absolutely kicks ass. And whoever said the Trouble Makers were stiff is a damn moron and should be on skiboards.

The Karmas are great, but for carving on hard stuff I liked the Elan twins even better

If you can get your hands on some of the scott p2s, they hold a great edge for a twin, and are quite stiff.Waist on them is like 74 or 72, quite skinny.

Yeah, I'll second the Scott P2's
amazingly snappy, quick turns and good edge hold.
Mine are a little short and have a 14.4m radius (almost feels like a slalom ski)
I've been spoiled by the ski, but now that it's time for something new, I can't find anything similar out there.
Like I said earlier, the Elan M02 is the best I've found for carving (I liked it at 175cm, 16m radius)
If you go down to 165cm, the turning radius is only 13.5m!
I have not been able to demo the new Scott P3's (but somebody on here said they could be the same as the Elan's?) The dimensions are identical...

cr lab skis are made for carving up the pipe walls. they have a smaller sidecut. they would probably be not too bad.

Exactly. Tweaks would be my pick. They are awesome. Mad trix are nasty too. both are sturdy and tough to break. Either of these is a fine choice

CR's are pretty sick.

The LAB bases are Salomon and not Fisher. And those bases are the reason why those guys are boosting more then anybody else is out of the pipe.

As for best carving .... You guys have got to try the new 1080 FOILS.

I just skied it this past weekend and it's hands down the ski I'm getting next year. That ski impressed me and I used to race.

It's by far the most progressive ski I ridden - versitile au max tabarnac!!!
