Curious question for Line : Line skiers READ

Long Post! you'll care if you have reactors or are interested in Line a lot, or just like ski politics and bs, otherwise just click back lol.

Since I, and many others, broke our first pair of reactors, got a second pair on warranty, (and Im only assuming its a short matter of time till we break them again), after a year past the purchase date are you going to fuck us on warranty?

I demo'ed 90% of next years twins, (except for Line because their rep didn't show up, and Liberty and ninthward only cause I haven't had the chance). Aparently the Lines have only minor changes from this year's. Saying that, the Lines are decent, but there are better preforming twins out there, especially depending on what you want them for (pipe, carving, jibs, etc).

Currently I like having a Line setup because I can save on bindings and switch my reactors between my skogans and mo ships at will, and next year maybe some chronics as well. So if, and likely when we break our reactors again, will we be having to buy new bindings... if yes, why would I buy another reactor? are they going to be proper this time and not break?

What should happen is like when a car manufacturer finds that they've fucked up and they recall the cars for safety issues and update it for free or for a small fee. If I have to buy another reactor and have no reason to believe it won't happen again other than "trust me", I won't buy it. I don't think anyone else will either. I took a chance, knowing what I was buying and the risk of it, and right now Im worried, and hope I didn't invest wrongly. I know 98% of whoever reads this will agree with me 100%.

Personally i think Line should be addressing this issue and informing people as best they can much before next season. I want a pipe only ski, and if Im not sure Im gonna be presented with a good binding, Im switching brands for my pipe ski because I know there's better preforming pipe skis out there. I'm a huge fan of Line and what they do, but when shit happens and I waste my money, I dont like that so much.

Anyone who has reactors is prolly a decent sized Line fan, and if all we reactor owners get screwed, thats a big market chunk, a relieable annual profit generating chunk at that, out the window for Line.

I wanna see some hits from people who agree with me and maybe a post from someone at Line, that or I'll mail a version of this to them if we get no answers on NS.

I skied on invaders with next years bindings. the bindings worked fine when i had a din 1 or 2 higher than the din on my looks, and the invaders are pretty much a lighter, more responsive fujative

What the hell I hate this topic I have a pair of Chronics and Reactors and I absolutly beat the shit out of my reactors and they hold up just fine! Also they are by far the safest bindings on the market! Fuck all you reactor haters!! Yes they did have some problems when they first came out but they are all fine now. Like I said I beat the shit out of mine hiting rails and shit and they are just fine. Allways buy LINE SKIS and BINDINGS BECAUSE SKIING NEEDS A FUTURE!!!!!

hey man, I probably like Line even MORE than the next guy, and I ride mine hard too, and mine eventually broke. i didn't want them to, they just did. And I agree that they are the safest out there, ... that is until they break.

This is not a hate thread at all, it's a question of what will happen with our purchases. Bindings shouldn't break period, they should outlive your skis at the very least.

i definately agree with you. i was also wondering.. if i broke my reactors next season... after my 1 yr is up... wether or not they would replace my binders... i hope a rep or someone sees this post and has some info :)?

Kasanovah raises a very good point, bindings should last longer than one year... period. AND the manufacturer/ distributor should stand behind their product.

took the words out of my mouth, i broke my first pair of reactors two weeks ago

skiing should be like mcdonalds...sure they started out with just hamburgers, them they progressed to breakfest sandwiches and salads and mcflurries. we all love the new stuff, but we still love the old stuff as well. so its a good thing they still offer

ps, the mo ships are workin out great huckasorass. First time I used them I hiked an abandoned resort mountain back home with 'Roy', also rocked em out on some urban booters in some city parks back home and in minnesota so far.

any reactor binding can be returned/warrantied no questions asked. if its on a line ski the ski and binding are automatically warrantied 2 years. i broke two reactor bindings but its okay they gave me new bindings on the spot. the second time they switched me out for look pivot 12s. they are totally cool with you going with someone elses stuff.

i love LINE but i have heard really bad things about the reactor bindings and alot of people have complained about them breaking easily.. but i have also heard that LINE is really good with there warrenties and replace them for you or like ^ let u switch to a totaly other binding

Lots and Lots and Lots of rumours, unless you saw someone break them, don't take NS's word for it. Ask your store how many reactors have come back broken. Never base a purchase solely on what you read on NS

you people clearly didn't read the posts. and if you got a different brand binding I don't think Line shipped it to you, you obviously got it fromt he shop you bought it from which is totally different.

Just read the post or at least don't comment when you didn't read it all.

a few kids i work with had them, one kid has gone through two pairs this year. and salomon, as much as everyone hates on their bindings, has a five year warrenty. thats something to think about if you're hard on your stuff.

i beat the hell out of mine, and ive actually gone through 4 pairs. thats right, four. and i love em. my first pair lasted until a month ago, then i borke my s912s the same day on the same table, then i got em both warenteed and rode my reactors for two weeks, and snpped the toepiece, then got em back, rode em urban for two hours and fucked teh track up so it wouldnt engage, and got em back again, rode em until a week ago, and snapped the toe again. just got a new pair.

but yes, i think line should stand by their product, and according to what ive heard, the 2006 binding material is formed differently, a different substance alltogether.
we'll see next season.

yeah, thats an interesting inquiry. If we break our reactors... will they be warranteed for another year after the replacement date? or are ya just fucked.


PS... I haven't had problems with mine so far... I'd suggest not setting them yourself. Get it done at jibij by josh if possible.

I just can't comprehend how somebody can love a binding that keeps breaking on them. Yah, sure they will warrenty them but it has to be inconvienent to always be waiting for you bindings to come.

Your bindings should just work. You shouldnt be breaking them, at least not multiple time A SEASON. That's rediculous.

i love my reactors. maybe you shouldve gotten the 2 year warranty. cause then you can break them next year and get next years binding which will be tons stronger.

the local line shop (ask asac) hasn't had too many come back in........ some, but not a massive amount...........




Well, here's my story. again.

Bought a pair of the original line bindings off a rep back in the day (02-03 season) ((these are the ones before they acually went into full production, mind you)). Rode those hard for 2.5 seasons, ended up busting the heel lock on them. Ok, so I'll go buy another pair. Ride those for exactly 1 month, break the heel lock on the new pair. Fuck. Go to shop, turns out that if you force the lock closed it strips it, and fucks you. My bad, 2 sets of bindings later. Get new pair off warranty, and I'm watching the heel locks now............ Going strong for another month so far!

You assume too much. I know tons of people who have never broken them. Are you trying to set/adjust it yourself? If so, you win the dipshit of the year award.

Really? Have you actually seen the stuff from Line. True, the Chronics are the same as this years, but look at the Invader, Elizabeth, Prophet, etc. You know nothing about whats happening next year.

The bindings next year will be made out of tougher materials. I know for a fact, and even if I didn't, there's no way they wouldn't work to improve it. They're not salomon. When you warrantied your binding through your local shop, I bet they didn't ask you for a receipt. Line doesn't care about the date of purchase. They will take back any broken binding, no questions asked.

Iam going to post a video very soon of my cosin and i hiting the reactors with a baseball bat on the toe peice and all over and the toe peice broke after 7 time hiting them. Reactors are the shit very durable bindings.

you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. i for one can vouch for the reactors. ive ridden them all season and ive ridden them to death. im super hard on my equipment and they have outlasted my scratch 100's which broke after three monthes last season. the reactors are solid bindings plain and simple and line will stand behind them all the way.

Man I love line, their progression of the ski industry rocks, its never been cooler to do the most gorilla cork 3s over and over again, and never going bigger the 540 its a dope idea. (for those who dont know what im talking about ive noticed the majority of line hardcores try to do nothing more then these tricks and think there wicked) LOL.
But as for the reactor binding, its a wicked idea, I love the idea of being able to trasfer binding from ski to ski with that much ease. But it keeps breaking, and for all those peeps that that isnt happening to then you dont actually ride hard or your lucky. I have one friend on his third pair, and zegil aka kasanova, has had them break and since starting this thread. We'll not break but malfunction, when we were skiing some pow and it took probably 45 mins to fix it so he could ride down to the car. So in my expereince 2 people outta the 2 people that I know that own reactors have ahd them brake, and have had problems with them. So Im stickin with my axials, but maybe one day line will fix the problem, eventhough they said they're fixing it for next year, I thought theyve been sayin that for the last 3 years
