How do you find a job???

I've ben struggling to find a job recently and I need cash for skiing.
What I usually do is go around to places with my resume and drop it off whether they need someone or not, but it was only succesful once in september and I got a dishwashing job. I go to places like coffee shops, subways, ski shops, cinemas, etc, but ive been doing this for 3 weeks and it hasnt been succesful at all...

apply at a million fucking places. don't be picky at where you want to work. if you don't like it when you get hired somewhere, keep applying. it's always easier to find a job when you already have one.

turn in applications and then the key is to call them back in like a week or less just so they know you really want the job

you're obviously doign smething wrong. You're either too young. Have a shitty resume, or look like a slob when dropping it off. One of the biggest things is ho you present yourself when dropping the resume off. Many companies train their employees to look for that and then rate the first impression. High rating gets a chance, low rating resume won't even get looekd at by the manager. Don't wear jeans or shorts or sandles. Wear khakis and a collared shirt, or if summer, also some khakis. Make sure your resume is put in order well too. You can go to youth employement offices and they can help you out a bunch. They have internet, fax machine,s and people who will basically build your resume for you for free. Also, talk to your parents, and ask them to look around by talkign to their friends and stuff. Connections and networking are the #1 way to a good job.

make sure ur resume is short...keep things in point form and make it real professional lookin. employers will just throw away the resumes if their too long also they might throw it away if u made a spelling or grammar error. so make sure it is 110% perfect

yeha. one thing if found out was that after applying constantly for months, as soon as i cut my loooong ass hair i suddenly got hired at 2 places in the same week!

i smoked a blunt and applied at this market. talked to the manager blunted. next week she told my friend who worked there to tell me to come back. i smoked a blunt and went back, got hired. i got high before my first day too. when i quit they told me i was a good worker and didnt want me to leave.

well I dont have very long hair and don't dress badly, my resume got me hired once and I think its pretty good i had it checked over a few times by teachers, and everytime I go to apply to a place I try to be as nice as possible and I introduce myself and shake the guy's hand, and the ppl are usually really nice with me too and they tell me i'll be contacted if theres an opportunity etc.. But there are no fuckin opportunities from what I see!! O well I guess im gonna go to safeway and fast food stores now, cuz it seems like any other kind of job(salesperson or working in a store) is kind of out of reach for a 16 year old, as long as I can avoid washing dishes again...

The better loking you are ,the easier it is to find a job. I know when I got resumes, I would put in a better word for hot girls than ugly girls. If you're an ugly dude, give your resume to a dude. If you are good looking, give it to a girl, but not one who is better looking than you, she has to think you are in her league.

APPEARANCE IS EVERYTHING.
Wear a decent shirt. Don't wear a hat. Maybe do your hair if you want. Ask for the manager when you get there, no matter what, even if just picking up an application. When talking to them, look them in the eyes. Eye contact means good people skills, which will most likely get you a job.
Talk like a grown up, dont say "uhhh and uhmm" when talking. You sound like a moron if you do. Noone wants morons in their company.
Unless it's the guy who shoots crows out back. He's allowed.

Comin from expierience^ YES everyone is an asshole.

A friend of mine wasa cashier at Kroger and over the course of 2 years ripped them off for over 3 grand until they caught him. For some reason its real hard for him to get a job now as well!

To the guy who said you can't get a job because you have no experience to put on your resume... pick up some volunteer experience at a few different places. it helps a LOT. Companies love to see that you've put time and energy into something that you didn't even get paid for - shows huge initiative.

In general, consider taking courses that will help you get a certain job.. for example, I'm taking a bartending course this spring, so that I can get a wicked summer job at a bar/restaraunt. awesome tips too.

As soon as you're old enough to work, get a job somewhere shitty like washing dishes, or, best of all, McDonald's.
Apparently mcd's has the best training system around, and is one of the best things to have on a resume.

me and dan and tripp took so many freakin initiatives one day. we went up to the club organizer lady one day, and we were all like, yo miss, lets us gets a ski club, yo. she was all, no. we was like, what the hell, why not. she said insurance and its not allowed in our schooling. we was like, fuck this shit. that was the last time i took that many initiatives.
