Replying to Might want to get a pair of twintips, need some help.
Like my name says, I like carving. Occasional race with school too.
I've been taking my carving skis (atomic c9.18 2002 or something, they are sort've semi-twin..) into the park.
Today I messed up on a 180, landed on my head, pick up my skis and one of my brakes was bent (i've bent them before, not this bad though), forward a lot, no way i could put it on. Brought it to the pro-shop, cool guys, fixed it up sort've.
He told me that the bindings on my skis were like defective or something (the model) from before and atomic stopped using them or something, they aren't pivot bindings by the way. He also said my heel piece may be failing and to get a binding check later on. And uh, he told me to get twin tips if i want to do park heh. I'm pretty sure its a good idea =/. But um, thers alot of twin tips, I've been searching this forum for like an hour. I see alot of people reccomending Chronics, and PEs alot. I also saw tweaks too and the sort.
I'd a pair that could 'allow' powder wouldn't hurt either in case i ever get to get out of ontario. But mainly, are there any twintips that could enable me to carve outside the park? Groomers mostly? Im on the east coast.
Should I just keep the atomics for carving/racing and use hte twins? The problem that I see with that is that, I wouldn't ever know when to use which... when to bring them and stuff. I really like the atomics, woudln't really want to part with them acutally, just, seems like i'll just kill them more and more in the park.
Thanks for any replies.
