3 words, WASTE OF MONEY!!! 4 reasons. 1. Battery dies within I think a little over a year. 2. Super super weak, its like a child. If you drop it, its 95% sure to be fucked. 3. Waste of money, too much. 4. What the hell do you need 15 gigs for anyway. Honestly, I have a 256mb mp3 and I dont get through that playlist cause I always skip some songs. Oh and btw, Im not a apple/ipod hatter, I think theyre good just not worth it.

^u r really fucking dumb, i have the first edition 5 gig and have had it ever since they first came out. Ive dropped my on the cement, left in out side in my car when it was freezing, and spilled numerous liquids on it and it still works, and quite well i might add. This is first edition and the quality is only getting better, so dont listen to anyone that disses on i-pods, great investment, i ive had mine since they came out and it runs like new.

I, and 3 other people that I know would disagree. Me and a few of my friends have all owned the newer version, not the mini, but the upgraded normal one and they might have made it better technologically but they became so fucking fragile its like they were made to break so you could buy a new one. My friends fell on the ground, and even after it was partially slowed down it still broke. Im not saying that the old ones arent as durable, and they probably are, but the newer ones are just like the cell phones that come out these days. You know, small, weaker, so you can lose them and break them faster. So I aint saying no dont get the ipod, im just saying if you do then know both the pros and cons of it.

im gonna say that ipods dont suck, simply becuase mine fell off the balcony at school like 18 feet onto a rug ontop of a concrete floor, and didnt break. they do freeze in the cold, and the screen turns all sorets of funky cold LCD colors......not the best for skiing

yeah I pods are nice Ive dropped mine left and right and it holds up great. And you obviously arent gonna listen to all your music at once its so you can listen to whatever you want theres more variety.

u dont listen to them all but u have all of you music with you so if u want to listen to something you have it. u dont have to worry about fooling around for cd or carry huge ass cd cases

wohh. calm down. first off, i have experienced no battery problems. second, an IPOd is nearly indestructable. ive dropped it on tile floors and it didnt even get a scratch

and for those so worried about their ipod being fragile why not put it in a protective case? since they make so many of them why not spend a little extra to protect it from scratching or being damaged.

^^ the battery is replaceable, i replaced mine myself. these sites sell batteries with instructions on how to replace them. it's not exactly easy to do, but it's possible:

Buying a used ipod really isnt worth it unless you get it for significatnly cheaper. its just one of those things thats worth it to save up $30 more and buy a new one

The thingie about Ipods freezing when it gets cold must be bs. Had mine in the pocket i -20 c and didn`t have any problemes with it freezing. That was a thin outer pocket.

what do u ski for like 2 hrs? 256mb / 4mb = 64 songs... 64 songs X 3 min = 192 min... so u got 3.2 hrs of listening, roughly

all i know is one night my buddy droped his 20gig ipod and it somehow erased and it.... no clue. It just turned off when it hit and when we turned it back on there where no songs.

My 3rd gen 20G has survived such a beating.

It gets sweated on at the gym. Rides the park with me all day and has survived multiple cased/overshot jumps and all kinds of rail falls and still plays without flaw.

buy your i pod from costco. You can return anything there. We've got this huge tv that we bought 3 years ago, nad its having minor issues now, so were gonna exchange it for a brand new bigger better one for free. You could exchange nyour ipod at any time. costco rocks
