Today we got cable internet and it is hooked up to a mac in another room. I want to be able to use it in my room on my dell. how do I do this? with a router? what kind? I'm dont really know much about this.

any router will do. Dlink is a good brand to get. Plug the cable modem into the "internet" or "uplink" port and the computers into the rest. That's pretty much it
