Thing about it, Washington mountains arn't know how their freezing temperatures, normally temps in the mountain always seem to be hovering around 30 degrees.
This season is like the 3rd or 4th below average season we've had in a row. So with global warming or climate shift whatever you want to belive in, will our season ever be good again??
Last month Death Valley got more precipitation that Seattle did.

well, im thinking that there have been years, like 30+ years ago when there were very dry, very warm winter months. I think that it has potential to snap out of this shit, however, i think that next year wont be much different that this year, and after that, well, i dont think itll get better. but, you never know

Well, I don't think this is a *direct* consequence of global warming... global warming is on the order of fractions of a degree each year... but it is still happening. The extreme winter we had this year was just lots and lots of really bad luck. The storms only came when it was warm, as soon as we got a mass of cold air, we also got high pressure and said bye-bye clouds and precipitation.
Its not the end of winter, but winters will start getting worse and worse, and its really an exponential thing. Cause the planet is just SOO packed and is only getting worse.
But heres some good mojo for your thoughts..... in only a matter of a few YEARS we will run completely out of fossil fuels... that is no joke, we will run OUT of oil. Unfortunatly, nobody takes that as seriously as they should, so steps aren't being made fast enough to come up with alternate fuels (they're available, all the technology is there, but nobody is willing to just switch over... just like the metric system - its a necessity that is being overlooked).
When the time comes (again... a matter of a few years, not only in our lifetime, but in the near future) we will all be completely fucked. Because I don't care WHO you are, or how environmentally friendly you are... EVERYBODY absolutely depends on fossil fuels (i'm talking about us now, there are many primitive cultures who still do not). So when the time comes, cars will stop, power plants will stop, pollution will go away. And GRADUALLY the atmosphere can settle, and winter will return.....
But thats so gradual that it probably won't happen in our lifetimes.
So remember..... its better to smile at nothing, then to frown at something. Winter will return!

So my question to you all is, which of you who bought seaon passes this year will not do the same next year based on this winter? For me, the pass to Baker was way too expensive for a season such as this one, so I doubt I'll buy one again next year, unfortunately.

I bought a college pass at snoqualmie, $250. I got 3 days on it, none of which were more than 5 hours. The last day was about 2 hours of hiking rails, so the pass wasn't even necessary. So thats about $125 a day..... ouch.
I'm sure I'll still buy a pass next year though. I would just like to get at LEAST my money's worth, but I'm still happy to support the mountain.
