ya its not just any gap to rail. you have to gap over at least one segment of the rail, be it a flat or a down slope. im pretty sure noone gaps a down slope and lands on the flat though, cuz that would hurt alot
according to travis rice on my "snowboard on demand" videos, a disaster is when you approach a down flat down rail, and gap the down and flat, and land om the second down.
