yeah, just what the last guy said. just keep your arms and your head looking in the direction of the spin. if you look at the ground at 180, you'll stop right there. that's what fucks people up. just keep looking till you see the landing.
there are a few people who have nutted a rail worse than me
find the right jump aswell, i reckon if you find one that goes across the mountain lets you spin up hill its a great way to start because you can do a 270, then once your confidence is up hit a straight on booter. but get some big ball juice so you go hard, and visualise yourself doing it. Once you've got the basice down start doing them off stupid small little hits off cat tracks and stuff when your just cruising.
Ever wonder if iliterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?
Yea.. if you can't find a hip, find a pretty small kicker. Like a 10 footer. Then just huck it. If you mess it up and fall over you shouldn't get too banged up. So get up and do it again.
The kind of kicker also may help/hinder you. When I was learning 3's.. I tried them off the smallest kicker at my local hill and I would only land about 1 in every 3.. and usually back seat. Then I went on a day trip to squaw and hucked off one of their smaller kickers. I landed every single one near perfectly..yet it wasn't much bigger than the one at my local hill.
Its really quite simple. Go off the jump, give a little pop while looking to your rotating direction. Dont think to much, just visualize yourself going around. Tuck in your knees and keep looking around till you see your landing. Focus on it, and STICK it!
Sometimes its a good idea to counter a little with your shoulders just before the end of the lip. It makes the spinning feel more natural when you come off the jump.
When I first learned a 3 i though out my left hand to the left. Kept my head slitly down but still looking at my hand and I just focused on my hand until I knew i had come around. Just follow your hand. Don't take your eyes off it. You will get it.
man the best advice was given to you already, don't be a pussy, thats real important, you just gotta get speed, get air and spin as hard as you can when you start, you'll get it eventually.
yes, when you throw your arms (if you decide to do that) then make sure you throw them across your body otherwise you will go corked, just go side to side. i was trying a 7 off my porch (no skis) and threw my arms too much up and not enough across and went corked out and messed up my ankles real bad.
Try some in a halfpipe first.. They are so easy almost like a 180. Then go for the kickers and tables. Hit the jump and turn your chin the direction you are going to go.. Spot your landing and stomp it. Dont freak out at the last minute.. Once you do one, you'll do them all of the time.. Good luck

start out on the far left side of the jump angled towards the top right corner of it. start a big carve that will take you off the middle of the jump aiming at the landing... carve right to the lip keeping pressure on your skis the whole time... then as you hit the lip rotate your shoulders to the right, and look down at a spot on the deck to the left side of your body. tuck up and grab safety. keep looking at that spot till you are just past 180 then look up towards the landing, let go and hopefully you will be right side up enough to land it and ski out. the end.

The thing that really helped me is to spot your landing. Keep your eyes on where your going to be hitting the snow before your body has even spun that far. Couldn't do 'em before I heard that one.
Just remember to look over your shoulder in the direction you're spinning.....Also don't prespin because you'll get your edges caught on the lip of the jump.
they;re the easiest spin to do, dont worry, just do it. Keep looking, thats the key, never stop looking till u are all the way around.

do it off a jump u are comfertable with.. does not need to be that big, i lern myne off a 2 foot high jump i made in my backyard.. Just commint to your spin anf look over your sholder your spinning towards.. if u fall just try and try again, u should have them quckly if u stick to it
Once again my friends...My game the shlong, king kong,my bong, the krong and all my fucking hommies its on
o and dude, if u do it right one time, u have to make sure to remeber exactly how u did it, cause i can garuntee u that if u jsut hike back up and think o i can do it ull fuck up.
Doing everything on the ground with no skis is definitely a great way to learn. One of my buddies couldn't throw a 3 on the ground barefoot, and so he obviously ate it hard when he tried with skis on. Also, I've heard that if you plan to practice a spin on the tramp, subtract 180 degrees from what you can land and thats what you'll be able to do on snow.
