ok, doesn't jibbing mean sliding rails, boxes and other shit. then i think that the rossi team manager fucked up using it in a sentence. look in the gear guide section, he said the scratch bc is designed to 'jib' in the backcountry. i don't get it.

'jib' does mean slide, grind etc. But us skiers fucked up the word and now refer to as freestyle skiing. Even MikeD says backcountry jib and stuff, he also says 'i am primarily known as a jibber'

The real meaning of 'jib' is exactly what you said.

Back in the day, 'jib' was the word snowboarders used to describe rails, boxes, trees and shit. I don't know how skiing adopted the term and used it to call everything newschool as jibbing, but I was quite confused when I first started hearing the term in ski lingo having pretty much been a snowboarder.

yeah, its supposed to mean slides like a 'tree jib' or 'rock jib' but for some reason skiers refer to anything having to do with newschool as jib

Does Elan even have a freeride team still? Last time I can think of seeing an Elan rider in a video was hurting ass Scotty Myer pulling a crossed up 540 like 10 times in TGR's Area 51. Come to think of it I think Tommy D'Angelo rides for them too, which is a shame because he can actually pull some pretty dope shit. Elan is probably the one company I would actually reject as a sponsor, even if it meant buying my own damn skis.

i bet the damn first issue i get will be in january 2 months late, it'll cost me $13, living in australia clearly aint perfect, the mags here(Chillfactor & Powderhound)only brought out 1 issue each this year at the start of the season in like june so it was all last years stuff.

u just now saw that? ur dumb....ya tanners rail slide on the 270 was impressive as was all the other people who did that rail. but my favorite part of the movie is Jon when hes trying to wall ride the water tank and his ski flies off. he looks like a fish outta water.

DFT - thats a fatty crevase douglas is jumping, check out front line, casue even sicker is when pep hits a rail over it, the rail was sketchy too. Man, i wish i could chopper into the backcountry and have diggers make me jumps over crevases
