Replying to NZ sessions

I'm going to be flying into christchurch next tuesday and spending a week cruising around the south island. I'm just looking for suggestions on places to party, things to do, cliffs to jump, etc. and seeing if anyone has any suggestions of what to check out (or even maybe a place to crash). I only have a week and want to make the most of it. I'd also love to just have a beer(or 10) and talk skiing or whatever.

I have a place in both Colorado and in (the now famous) Bend, Oregon. So any hospitality or advice can be recipricated (sp?) if you're ever planning on coming to the states. Thanks... I'm really fucking stoked to check out NZ!
