You know what it is really starting to bother me?
Heres what: The cool thing these days seems to be, saying this: 'whats with all thoes park and pipe skiers who think they are the shit but cant ski big mountain?' Lots of people are saying: 'I dont respect people who only ski the park and cant ski big mountain.' Who cares! Is the fact that someone skies ONLY the park hurting you in any way? Let them do what they enjoy more, and you do what you enjoy more. I think people are saying this just beacsue all the pros are saying it and it seems to be the trendy thing to do.

Its not a crime to kill the trendy!

umm.. ok ! I'm glad our sport is progressing, but some people do look like idiots when they can only jump and can't even turn. And the people who like parks better than powder.... YOU'RE JUST WEIRD !

i don't mind people that ski ONLY the park, but what i do mind is somebody that can do, let's say, a 720, a nice one, but when they land they can't even ski out of it. people should become better downhill skiers before they start to freeski

ya for real i raced for like 5 years and i like to pride myself on my ability to ski. plus being able to ski helps you out a lot when u ski park or jib or big mountain.

Forilla....all good points plus if the sport continues to progress in the direction of snowboaring, which is slowly already is, then do you think that kids that can only stomp shit clean off a 40 foot table are going to be able to ride out of backcountry hits through a foot of pow?

I agree with you that skiers should be well rounded but not everyone has the oppurtunity. The mountain i live by has about 200 feet of vertical. How am I supposed to practice big mountain on that? When I'm lucky enough to actually have powder it sucks because the hill is so small the powder slows you down so much it gets pretty boring. Quit whining about skiers only being able to do park. Its all about having fun.

i have no respect for people who are all about freeskiing and can even ski! im not saying that you have to be an amazing skier or anything, just learn how to carve and do the basics before you move into the park. It'll make skiing in the park easier anyway. besides, look at the pros; there are very few pro freeskiers out there who are not good skiers.

ya know what? who the fuck cares what kids are doing. if they just wana ski park, then let em. ive been skiing for 2 years, and i can ski with no problems. i totaly respect ppl who ski big mountain and don't just focus on park, but wtf right gives them to bash other skiers who just like to ski park? that's their desicion, not theres. and if they cant ski for shit, then fine, they will realize sooner or later that they need to learn how to ski better the hard way.

Yeah you should know how to ski the whole mounatin, not just the park, but truly I could care less unless I was skiing with that person and they couldnt ski anywhere else but the park, that would piss me off.
