true ski length

When a ski persay is pocket rockets are claimed to measured 175 cm.if you mesure them upright are the 175 or is that not right because the curled tailes do not extend tha long?

it does matter somewhat. a 185 Pocket rocket really only skis like a 180-182cm. so if you spend all your time strightlining then you might what to get a real 185, but 3cm should really hurt you.
