Camera angles

what do you guys think is the best angle to watch a jump at? like, say i was going to post some skiing clips on this site, what's the best angle? cuz a lot of times when the angle is straight on to the jump, there's a huge controversy about whether he landed it or not and stuff. if its at the bottom, u can see the landing, but i dont think u can see the trick good enough. so what's the best? is it to the side? diaganol?

you stand smack-bang in the middle of the transistion of the jump and get the skiier to jump over you

dude all it takes is experimentation, there is no perfect angle, and if you think you do have it when you go to put it all in a video it will GET BORING! so what you do to avoid that is try every imagninable angle you can think of {stand above the jump or below - zoom in - zoom out - hold the camera high or low - pan with the skier in the air...} there are thousands of different ways to portray someone skiing so just get creative and waste lots of film, thats all it takes, the more you'll practice the more you'll know what works - good luck

it all depends on the type of jump. for a table top, i would have to say stand even with the landing and far enough to the side of the jump so that you can see the lip. that always looks pretty sweet. for a hip i would say stand way up the hill on whatever side the person is landing on. that way you can see the whole jump and get a feel for the height.

be original, not repetitive, be creative, keep a steady hand, and don't even bother posting a video that isn't impressive because you will be harassed incessantly (ie...the HUGE 4 ft cliff drop videos)

I saw a snowboard lio the other day that was the best filming ever. fisheye lens and the camerman hit the jump about 5 ft behind the rider and was right there with him in the air. fucking sic filming.
