the binding ships Dec. 15 so i'm sure that they have done a fair amount of testing by now. and 219 is a lot of money

i am gonna stay away from them for at least a season, just cause of this.
Burlington, Vt. -- Karhu's Line alpine binding, which uses a floating pivot system to help protect the knee, is on schedule for an initial shipment of 5000 units in November, according to president Doug Barbor.
Tooling should be complete by September, Barbor said, and production has been moved from Montreal to the Victor Plastics plant in Victor, Iowa, manufacturer of Burton snowboard bindings. Karhu, as the production facility for most North American Burton boards, has previous experience working with Victor.
The product development group -- designer David Dodge, engineer Mark Meredith and technician Tom Doyle -- have been moving ahead with ASTM testing, and an on-snow test program is planned for prototypes and early production samples. Testing sessions are scheduled for Mt. Hood and New Zealand.
A medical team headed by Prof. Jacques de Guisse at the Universite de Quebec (Montreal), Ecole de Technique Superieure, is evaluating the binding's biomechanics against existing technology.
'We haven't promised the product to anyone,' Barbor said. 'We've said emphatically that we'll ship it in November if it's ready. We've taken orders for only 5000 units. If something goes wrong, we'll know where they are. Above 5000, it's a sales situation, not a market test.'
the only thing that i dont like is 'If something goes wrong, we'll know where they are.'
What that says to me is that they are not fully confident in there product and feel that it could have defects..........
