if you are in the desert drink your own urine only as a last resort, and if you are fighting a shark, hit it in the gills. and if you happen to be attacked by a cloud of killer bees while sinking in quicksand then drink a red bull and kick their asses. and don't get caught in avalanches. they are bad.

How To Out Ski An Avalanche:

Accelerate to 200kph in 5 seconds.

How To Avoid This Delema:

Have a safe spot that you can get to in the event the snow starts breaking underneith you. Take a safety course and go with someone experienced.

Whiteouts:

If you are SERIOUSLY FUCKED, build a snowcave and wait it out. The last thing you need to be doing is gallavanting around the backcountry not seeing a foot infront of you, you'll walk off a cliff or fall down a hill and break your leg.

Gear:

Always carry backcountry avalanche gear (beacon, probe, shovel), headlamp, extra warm clothes, well stocked first aid kit, food and pleeeennnnnty of water (a pack with a water bladder is perfect). Also, be sure to check the weather and avalanche reports before you go, and let someone know where exactly you are going, and when you expect to return.

If you don't know, don't go.
