hair like tanner/jon

this is a stupid question but in my new powder i saw a oakley ad with a pic of tanner hall, his hair looked almost exactly like jon ollsons hair in the philou freeskier except for the colour. what would you call this hair cause it doesnt really look like real dreadlocks, and how can i get hair like that (does backcombing work?)?

wash your hair as in getting it wet or with shampoo i already dont comb it and i thinkit is working but is there a faster way?

No, you can wash your hair. You just can't use shampoo/conditioner. Your hair develops a greasy like substance and you can kinda twist it between your fingers and it sticks, also stick it up. it'll do whatever you want. Trust me. I think I have a picture in most beatiful female jibber (haha) if you wanna see what mine looked like, in the first few hundred. I had a red shirt on.

How long would youn have to not soap your hair? I'm guessing its diffent for each person but how long did it take you guys? Also after you get it if you wash it with soap does it all go away?

i was talking to this girl in french today with dreads and she was saying you can buy this special shampoo that makes your hair all crazy and cleans the oils/grease out of you har. and then she bought this waxxy stuff and started twisting her hair and stuff and now it is this huge ball o hair its awesome there are like beads and shit in it .

get some surf wax. theres a website dreadlocking.com i think it is and they sell wax stuff for your hair.

yeha another guy just sprays his hair with this stuff so it wont be greasy but he said the only time he gets it wet is when he has to go in the pool for gym. this guy is a senior and wasnt washed his hair since the end of sophmore year its insane.

That hair is pretty much loose, mini dreadlocks. So whatever one would do to form those will work pretty well.

Your hair doese't make as much oil if you don't wash it. The reason why it makes so much is becuse you wash it out every day. And your hair is acctually better off gressey then clean, after all it is dead and washing it just drys it out more, making it last less.

ya, i haven't washed my hair since july, but i washed it 2 days ago cuz doug said i could, but it totaly killed the 2.5 or so months of progress i had, so no more washing my hair till august next year.

Not washing your hair for that long is absolutely disgusting. Although if you can do it and keep washing it then it actually looks cool.

it is just gross, i am fine with blavk people with braids or dreads. but white people expeshualy(spelled wrong) girls look really bad, in my point of view. maybe it is just me, being a girl in all, but i like my hair to be clean, not greasy. it just looks better, plus it feels nasty with it is dirty/ greasy

allright im gonna have to clear this up for everyone. you do wash your hair. if you dont your hair will form into 3 or 4 nasty dreads. tanner washes his hair once a day. you just have to put it up when it drys. tanners hair does not smell

-------THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT----------

Go to Hot Topic in the mall...the Gothic store, and buy this stuff called Murray's Beeswax...it sounds sick but it works wonders. You stick it in your hair and style as you like. It stays forever, and you can re-do it all day long

Now just leave it in your hair over night or maybe 2 nights...and for sure by the 3rd day, your hair will be matty and clumpy like Tanner's Jon's and Rex's(thomas)

everyone is so mistaken about dreadlocks. you wash them all the time. its better if you do it with salt water cuz then you dont need to use special shampoo or anything and it cleans by itself, so if you live near the beach your gold. you put wax in your hair which makes it clump up and fuse together.

yeah but if you wash your hair with most shampoos it causes your hair to not clump and whatnot. Does anyone have/had dreads? I think they look cool if they are done right i dont like them when they are really tight and organized i like them when they are all crazy. that guy who hasnt washed his hair in a long timeat my school was weaving pens in his hair in 2d art.

you should post a pic of your hair quebecfreestyler, i think a way that might wotk is scratching your hair in circles with your fingers wide a part i did it for a while and it started to form little clumps and got really poofy

Mickeal has the biggest of that kind of hair. It rules. i can't wait till mines long enough to do it. my hair grows so slowly, i decided to stop cutting it back at the start of july and it's like an inch and a half maybe.

My trick is simple , I put some gel and when my hair is beginning to be hard, I shake it with my and and they become like supra dupa Jon-Jon hair.

Last winter, my hair was blue and was just like jon-jon, it was sick...

You guys should all get hair like PhattBevans' before he shaved it all off, his hair was the shit man!! He had full on scum dreads and hadn't washed it in like 2 years, it was sick aye! But then it all went away and now he's bald and ugly.
