Beginner Snow Maker

Snowmaking is only possible with temperatures between about 20-30 degrees. (That is why this cult is not very active right now).

One thing that is required for any type of snow gun is an air compressor. YOu need to have a compressor that puts out 4 cfm(scfm) @ 90 psi. This can be purchased for about 200 USD.

The most common gun for a beginner is a tee gun. this is easy to build and use and costs about 30 bucks to build. for this gun all you need is a garden hose and an air compressor.

or, if you want to go all out, you can build a more complex gun. this can cost over 150 dollars to build but can make much more snow. you also need a pressure washer(about 300 bucks) to use a more complex gun.

i would recommend the tee gun until you have a good understanding of snowmaking though. i think ive answered all your questions? haha. and look through these threads to fid plans for the different types of guns too. check out dan's(snowmaking2003) website too.

if you shop around though, you can probably find a prety cheap compressor, me friend(matchory) and I got one that was the tright specs for 100 at pep boys the day after thanksgiving
