Replying to Dont use drain pipe on you snow gun!
I just finished my hago gun last night. I used 4 inch drain pipe so it would be light and i didnt have to cut that back out. Well I took it out for a test and while I was hooking up the air, it was propped up on the fence. I turned around and it fell. I went over and there was a one foot long crack down the whole front where the nozzles are. I fired it up anyway to try it but it would not make good snow. Only VERY slushy snow. I tryed different mixtures of air and water on the nuc. nozzle but it seemed not to make much difference and the air nozzle(1/8 inch hose barb)was freezing over. Is that normal for ice to build up on the hose barb? I think the problem is one or more of 3 things. It was not at the right mixture settings. The hose barb is too big and needs to be flattened. Or the nuc. nozzle was not lined up or was out of alignment from the crack. Today I got a piece of 3 inch normal PVC as the tower. We are going to cut the back out at an angle so we can put it back in with zip ties after everything is mounted.
