Hey, NS. ive seen alot of edits being posted up for critique on this forum and since it somewhat clutters the forum. It'd be nice to have all the information in one place, instead of scattered throughout the hisory of this forum. Hope this helps :)

i know its snowboarding but this thread is about editing, not footage so haters GTFO.
ps. i know the key framing is fucked. had some issues with the aspect ratio so it screwed up when i was exporting..

i think that is terrible advice, but i do agree to some extent. there are songs that are way over used such as "let the drmmer kick" and a lot of biggie songs, but i have yet to hear this song in a lot of edits and i dont even rmemeber it being used in a clownschool edit. do you expect someone to go through the top rated on NS or the rest of the videos so they can make sure they are not useing the same song?

Enjoyed intro, kinda of a weird  song choice, but it worked. The follow shots + slow mo didn't work out to well because the filming was shaky. Maybe try to get more creative and work with your surrounding to get some more creative shots. 6/10

^the edit was good! i lvoed the song and whatever you did when you put a shot on that wallride was dope. but i must say try to not put the same trick on the same feature more than once in a edit. it kinda got repetitive.

The Mini Rail edit wasn't really an edit more just a bunch of clips with music no offense or anything.

The Sunapee edit was good ,but as said above to long for the amount of trick it had in it so maybe cut it down even if he wants lots of shots just put the best ones. Example the fs 270 out of the down flat rail just pick the cleanest and best angle. This makes it shorter and the skier is stoked because he thinks all of his 270 outs are that clean lol.

I know this is a critique of the thread, not the videos, but I think (and have noticed) that this thread will be and has been basically just a video post fest, with more people posting videos than critiquing edits.

Unfortunately, I don't think this format will enable people to get in depth, focused critiques for their edits - critiques where people name shots and times about things they liked and didn't liked and overall detailed opinions on what the videographer could do better.  Thats where the individual threads come in - it allows for one-on-one with the edit.

A better solution might be to make it a rule that you have to critique the edit above you before you can post one of your own.  That way no one gets left out and everyone has to provide input.  I can attest to the fact that actually writing down what you like and don't like in an edit makes those opinions and visions that much more tangible in your mind, therefore improving your filmmaking.

Just my two cents, and I know I'm a part of the problem by not critiquing anything.  Sorry, my bad, but I don't have time to look into all of them and provide good viable detail.  Keep up the good work!

True, most videos posted nobody is actually critique the editing filming just posting there own. I think that is great idea, you have to critique before you post your own.

i loved the editing! song was good. i thought the intro took a little too long but it was a pretty long edit so i guess thats ok. im not a very good editer and/or filmer so i cant say much else. good edit. :)

^^^^^^^^ Don't take it as hate, but I didn't really like it, but I will help you improve this edit. Cut it short 3:00 for a season edit I find is to much, I personally like 2:00-2:30 of just there best no filler. The intro was long and pretty bland change the shot up and use of some more creative titles or create your own in photoshop if you can. If your going to do a shot of someone walking up the hill at least use a tripod because the shakes can be rather distracting. The song I didn't like other people will , but I didn't, found it didn't match the rider's style at all. I'm going to give you 3/10 maybe go back and re-edit this guys year end video and see what you come up with.
