thepiratebay.com  is the best I've used.  Get your kicks in now before they get shut down by the Swedish government.  You need to have bittorrent to use it, but that's easy to find if you don't have it already.

also google search an artists name and add site:mediafire.com to the end (with a space in between obviously) its a super legit file sharing site

Torrents: An Introduction

go to azureus.com, download app (vuze)

go to btjunkie.org, search what you want, even 'beatles discography', click the download button in preferred search result(s)

make sure that downloaded torrent opens with vuze, just doubleclick the torrent and vuze should open and start to upload the music you want

i use limewire for single songs and the pirate bay to get albums. On the pirate bay if you read the comments to make sure the feedback is positive you shouldn't get any viruses.

Just a little story...
My friend used to download tons of music and movies from torrents, until one day he got a letter from some division of the government of Canada saying that if they caught him again it would be a fine of some crazy amount per mb or gb of downloaded stuff. It was pretty scary stuff.
