A few years before Tanner Hall's infamous crash at Chad's Gap, we attempted to clear the gap with very little success on multiple occasions. This skier loses his balance in the air, nearly flips upside down before a violent slam into the wall of snow-covered ice. Skier was ok but to this day has back problems. Total time spent building kicker and preparing the in-run...2 hours Result...Very painful lesson
This is the man behind the camera pushing Shaun to hit Pyramid from: "Pyramid Gap Backflip After Peer Pressure". He backs up his talk with his double on a snowboard.
Skier procrastinating dropping into Pyramid Gap in Grizzly Gulch. He was on top on the hill ready to go but it took him over 30 minutes before he finally got the courage to hit it. He then throws a massive back-flip over the 90 foot gap. Pretty funny because most people can relate to feeling this kind of fear before finally caving to the pressure.
On the attempted landing, I rammed my face into the blunt end of my ski pole and spit my face open right under my eye. Not only did this result in multiple stitches, but caused a severe concussion. I also tore my ACL. This shows what happened upon being concussed and my constant rantings and confusion.
Shaun Moyes enjoying back-to-back powder days at the Bird. Riding areas like: The Elevator Shaft, Dalton's, Pat's Playground, and the Cirque. 1:50 is the unnamed chute in Carbonate right under the Gad Zoom lift. Because it has no official name, some call it "Door 2.5" being that it lies near the "Door 2" and "Door 3" Chutes, but the locals usually refer to it as "The Chute of Almost Certain Death". Whatever you call it, its always a crowd pleaser.
