Just got elected Vice President of my universities Ski and Snowboard Club!

Holy shit NSG I'm overjoyed right now..

I go to University of Illinois (Im a sophomore) and just got the phone call from the current VP that he wants me to be his VP for 2014 (Not randomly, we had to apply). So next year I'll learn the ropes from him and my senior year I'll be the president of the club! We have a large membership of around 400+ kids and our big trip out west every year (Copper, Big sky, etc) has around 200+ kids go.

I couldn't be happier right now, not only do I get to share my love of the sport with others but I get some more resume material. Plus, during the summer before I become president, the tour company we use takes the presidents from all the Unis they work with to Colorado to mountain bike, climb, raft and all that good shit.

NS seemed like the right place to post about it since I think most of you could understand how excited I am about this.


So this thread isnt a total waste of time, here

Thanks! I appreciate it, Im really excited to be picking where we go since I have so much experience out west compared to everyone else. We did Montana (bigsky) this year and a lot of people were happy with it since Copper sucked last year, Colorado is always a classic though.

I forgot to mention, if anyone in the midwest wants to go out west during winterbreak next year with a bunch of other college kids for super cheap, hit me up. The trip isnt members only and we want this to be our biggest trip ever

Except your club continually blows. All my friends at U of I go across the state line into Iowa for ski trips. Iowa State and University of Iowa are couple hundred cheaper and we generally have over 500 kids from our school alone, not mentioning the several thousand from our partner schools.

Its not a matter of turning the club around because we already have one of the highest RSO memberships on campus. The big goal is always to expand anyways. The reason you have so many more kids on your trip is because we have the largest greek membership in the nation and they have their own ski trip they go on, this drains the numbers. There is talk of us trying to merge the groups to have a huge group go, but were still discussing that.
