Replying to Sego Big Horn 106 Replacement
I snapped my Sego Big Horn 106 187cm irreparably this weekend :(
I really loved this ski, and want to replace it as closely as possible, but Sego went bust. I did ski the Big Horn quite directionally and chargey, but I loved how pivoty and maneuverable it was in tight spots, not at all punishing if I got sloppy, could carve well, great in the air. I would throw the occasional spin or ski switch for short stints, but ski mostly forward. It could thrash through set up snow but also bounce about and be fun. Whole mountain, playground, etc.
I'm a nerd so I made a spreadhseet of skis with similar specs.
ON3P Jeffries in 186 seem pretty close, but they are lighter and I don't want to give up stability. Woodsmans look great but may be a fair bit more directional and less maneuverable, and Blister have no info on ON3P skis of late so not much to go on.
I think I'm between sizes on Moment Wildcats.184 lighter and shorter, 190 same weight but longer and less maneuverable.
Whitedot Altum 104 looks pretty close but is lighter and sounds less stable.
Line Optic 104 graphic looks like utter trash, unfortunately.
Anyone skied the Big Horn vs any of these or other skis? Also anyone got info on how the newer versions of the Jeffrey hold up to charging in variable snow despite the lighter weight of the newer models?
