New Skis (Jeffrey 110?)

rsykainsI'm 5'8 140 expert skier at Alta/Snowbird. I was on arv 106s last year and loved them. I'm looking for something a bit wider to use everyday at Alta/Snowbird along with using them to compete in big mountain comps. I'm worried that being a lighter skier they would be too beefy/demanding. If anyone has experience on these how well do they do on hardpack? I can't seem to find a ton online about the 110s. Mostly just stuff on the 108s, are these skis actually the same pretty much?

Yes. I can ski any run at alta/snowbird aggressive and I do tricks (mostly 3s, backflips)

Only ever skied the Kartel (old name for jeffreys) 108s, but the 110 are a nearly identical rocker profile and flex pattern. I ski with a pretty neutral stance, which is how the Jeffrey was designed to be skied. If youre trying to charge hard and drive forward, the Jeffs may not agree with you and you may be better suited to a ski like the Moment Wildcat 108, or the Woodsman 110 if youre looking for something a little more directional. That being said, theres high schoolers at Bridger hucking 40 footers on their Jeffrey 110s.

Tight spaces- the deep rocker lines make the Jeffrey pivot super easily. Loved them even more than my wildcats in trees. Did great in moguls. Would much rather be on my wildcats for long chutes. Still stable though, theyre pretty stiff underfoot, but they ski pretty short because theres so much rocker.

Theyre a great ski, i dont think your height/weight should be a deterrent from getting them. If anything, I would almost size up

Jeff’s 108 or 110 is built for Alta/bird. If your strong, good skier there isn’t anything better.

j110 skis very similar to 108's. I've owned a bunch of pairs, absolutely love them. Highly recommend you mount them at recommended. They will hook up, turn, float, etc. much better that way.

I took my Kartel 116s (mostly same as the Jeffs) to Japan, they were fine on hardpack and pivoted pretty well in the tight trees there. They're a stout ski though so in longer lengths, comparative to your height they can feel a bit "boaty" in the really tight stuff, you just need to plan your turns.

For reference I'm 168cm / 156lbs and ride the 176 length Kartel as my powder ski. Love 'em

I have the Jeff 108s and ski Snowbird. I've also ridden some ARV 106s a few times.
The jeffs are a really great ski for the Bird, especially late season. I don't think they're overly demanding, they're a little less stiff than your ARVs.

The one downside is the edge hold on icy groomers is pretty bad, even compared to ARVs, so either avoid ice or ride your ARVs those days.
