Jeffery 102 park ski?

So my friend got a pair of Jeffery 102s. On an average day, he is in the park the whole day. I think this was a silly purchase, considering the Oski's are 131/102/125. Which seems a little wide for a dedicated park ski.

We just moved from MD to Utah. Before now our widest skis were 95. Now with deeper snow and more terrain, we are looking at actually building a proper quiver. 102 is a fine width for an all-mountain ski but for someone who is only ever going to ski the park or deeper snow on a powder day, I think it doesn't really have a place for him.

Basically, I'm wondering if you guys think 131/102/125 is too wide for a dedicated park ski.

It’s all personal preference. Park skis have only been getting wider over the last decade, so I’d assume more people prefer the wider ski. That being said, I preferred my magnus 90 more than the Jeff 102 in the park. The flip side, I like the Jeff more overall because I can have more fun all over the mountain and still lace up park laps on it.

They ride super well on spring slush days, easier to 5050 and press, steezy asf, and they feel better on rails.

Yeah wide skis in the park are sick, especially Jeffery’s. I have a pair of arv 86s that used to be my dedicated park ski. Bought a pair of Jeff 108s a few seasons ago intending for them to be my all mountain, outside the park ski. Now even if I was doing an only park day I’d always rather grab the Jeffery’s over the armadas

Then go ask your friend directly, "How do you like your skis?".

Instead, you are asking random people on Newschoolers to comment on whether someone they don't know is on the 'right' ski.

It really just sounds like you have an issue with your friend's skis for some reason.

I mean yea I used him as the example for the question but he's not really relevant to the question I asked at the end of the post. I was hoping people would say "wider skis are better because......" and not just say that they like them. I like XC skis for the rails!

Dude I literally just used my Jeff 102's for the first time ever today. They are 191 and im coming from 3 szns on 184 poachers so its like nothing i’ve ever rode before

I’ve only hit a lil pvc setup but they're def the most fun skis i’ve ever rode. 102 waist makes surface swaps, 5050's, butters waayyy more fun.

No lie I think its gonna be the only park ski I use for the rest of my life. Id like a carving and pow ski but as someone whos tried about 6-7 unique pairs of skis I know what I want and these blow everything else out of the water. They're mounted -2 from center and you can kinda tell in some clips if you go frame by frame but idgaf I can't tell a difference while skiing them.

I have Jeffrey 102s and I only ride park. They perform fine, they’re overrated id say but still are perfect for my style of skiing. But i ski fast as shit in the park and I mostly ski jumps and like doing big flips and landing deep. If you don’t ski like that and prefer rails and swaps and smaller features at lower speeds then these will not be the park ski for you.

I mean width doesn’t matter tbh for park. I use wides and CT 1.0s and don’t notice much difference.

The shape however is iffy, I also have Jeff 102s at rec for all mountain, and just love them to bits. But for a pure park ski I wouldn’t get it.

for a one ski do it all I’d 100% do Jeff 102s at around -2 from center.
