Park City Employee Discount

McJauntySo I just got a job at Park City. I know that you get an employee discount at the Vail-owned retailers on the mountain. But I cannot find out what shops those are, specifically. I am asking because I need new skis this season and wanna see what I could possibly get with a discount.

I tried to look online but I didn't get a guaranteed answer. I would just go there and look for myself but I have not actually moved there yet. So if anyone works or has worked in Park City or knows the answer to that let me know.

The discount is someting crazy 40%. I just got hired pretty much a day ago. I'm gonna talk to someone soon but I didn't want the first interaction with my boss to be about the employee discount lmao

Basically immediately start looking at every company directly to see what they give and registering your pro deal for when stuff drops soon for the season. Then go the VR discount route. I know HH gives 60%, smith used to give an insane deal (I think it’s Oakley now). In a lot of VR resorts, the shops are actually vail shops meant to look like factory shops (eg Oakley). I remember as a ski instructor, around Christmas they’d give us one blowout deal of half off a whole setup (as an instructor) from their shops. Not the most amazing deal but not the worst at all.

depends on what level of instructing/coaching you are and how long youve been working at the resort. i used to get previous seasons fischer and swix stuff basically for free from a regional rep. boots, skis, poles, gloves, goggles. (not that i would rock the uvexs)

working at shop tho, you dont really even need to buy skis. if you have a good relationship with your boss, your can likely just take the demos out all you want.

Its like Canyon Mountain sports or whatever "demos" or rentals vail has at the base....We're not talking shops like Bazookas, Colesport, Jans, Aloha, etc.

I really really hated vail, mostly because of the low wages they paid and then ran the resorts like shit bc they were short staffed. Corporations actually listening to the people is unheard of.

5 finger employee discounts are whats really good. Fuck Vail.
